💊 Medications

Add, give, and track medications, doses, and stock.

  • How do I add a medication?

Go to Menu > Medications > Add. For each medication, choose the dosage type, the amount, and how often it should be given.

You can add more than one pet to the same medication — handy for things like flea and tick treatment you give everyone at once.

When a dose is due, you’ll get a notification.

  • How do I edit a medication?

Go to Menu > Medications and tap Edit next to the medication you want to change.

  • How do I give a medication?

When a dose is due, you’ll get a notification. From there you can Give the medication or Skip it.

You can also open the Calendar, tap a scheduled dose, and mark it from there.

  • How do I log a one-off (as-needed) dose?

Some medications are given only when needed rather than on a fixed schedule. Set the medication up as As Required, then open it and tap Give now to log a dose whenever you give one.

  • How do I track how much medication I have left?

Open the medication and turn on stock tracking, then enter your current count. From then on, the count drops automatically each time you log a dose as given (delete a dose and it’s added back). Notepet warns you when stock runs low and estimates how many doses you have left.

  • How do I update the medication stock count?

Open the medication and edit its stock. You can:

    • Add a refill — enter how much you topped up, and it’s added to the current count.
    • Set the exact count — overwrite the count with a figure you’ve counted yourself, for example after correcting a mistake.

Each change is recorded, so the stock history shows refills and manual edits alongside the automatic drops from doses you’ve given.

  • How do I pause a medication schedule?

Go to Menu > Medications, open the medication, and choose Pause schedule from its actions menu (the vertical dots). Pausing stops the reminders without losing the medication or its history. It’s useful when your vet asks you to hold a course for a while. The medication drops out of your ongoing list while it’s paused. When you’re ready to start again, open it and choose Resume schedule.

  • How do I archive a medication?

Go to Menu > Medications, open the medication, and choose Archive from its actions menu (the vertical dots).

Archive a medication when you’re done with it but want to keep its records. For example:

    • A course of treatment has finished.
    • Your vet has discontinued or replaced it.
    • You want to tidy up your ongoing list without deleting the dose history.

Archiving keeps the full history (unlike deleting, which removes it) and hides the medication from your ongoing list. Switch the list to Show all to see archived medications. Archived medications no longer send reminders and can’t be paused or dosed. To bring one back, open it and choose Unarchive.

  • How do I view a medication's history?

Go to Menu > Medications and select a medication. The History section shows its most recent doses. Tap View all for the complete record.

Only doses you’ve marked as Given or Skipped appear here.

  • How do I view a pet's medication history?

Go to Menu > My Pets and select a pet. The Recently taken section shows their most recent doses. Tap View all for the pet’s full medication history.

Only doses marked as Given or Skipped appear here.

  • How do I organize medications with labels?

Labels (tags) let you group your medications list, for example by pet or by type. Add a label to a medication from its editor, and your medications list groups together everything with the same label. You can rename, delete, and reorder labels from Menu > Settings > Medication Labels.
